A Modeling Framework to Quantify Routine VOC Emissions and Concentrations from Organic Liquid Tanks

چکیده

The oil industry has been a primary source of energy for years but it can also lead to the emission Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). VOCs play major role in formation photochemical oxidants and be harmful ecosystem. Thereupon, effective mitigation control strategies air pollution have recently become more prominent industry. To orchestrate these strategies, understanding how pollutants disperse from organic storage tanks should improved. In this study, modeling framework was developed estimate in-field two-month average VOC concentrations caused by crude tanks. Firstly, United States Environmental Protection Agency's (US-EPA) Tanks 9b software used rates Then, Gaussian Dispersion Formulation applied simulate dispersion. Following this, an in-house equation represent concentration at selected receptor locations. Moreover, measurement (passive sampling method) conducted evaluate model performance. normalized root-mean-square deviation between measured estimated found 0.15. There strong correlation two data with coefficient 0.96. Overall, results suggest statistically performed well 95% confidence interval. Due its effectiveness time-saving application, method described study develop plans facilities.

determination and dispersion modeling of voc emissions from liquid storage tanks in asalouyeh zone

air pollution is one of the most challengeable problems in the asalouyeh zone. in order to reduce the air pollutants emission and their effects it is necessary to recognize the amount and spatial dispersion of air pollutants. hence in this paper, evaporative losses of the stored liquids from 16 tanks of an oil company in asalouyeh zone, are determined using tanks 4.0.9d and then dispersion of v...

Biogenic volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from forests in Finland

We present model estimates of biogenic volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from the forests in Finland. The emissions were calculated for the years 1995–1997 using the measured isoprene and monoterpene emission factors of boreal tree species together with detailed satellite land cover information and meteorological data. The three-year average emission is 319 kilotonnes per annum, which i...

Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Removal by Vapor Permeation at Low VOC Concentrations: Laboratory Scale Results and Modeling for Scale Up

Petroleum transformation industries have applied membrane processes for solvent and hydrocarbon recovery as an economic alternative to reduce their emissions and reuse evaporated components. Separation of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (toluene-propylene-butadiene) from air was performed using a poly dimethyl siloxane (PDMS)/α-alumina membrane. The experimental set-up followed the consta...
